Turn off the dishwasher's water inflow.

Bosch recommends turning off the water inflow and contacting customer support. If you can safely isolate electrical power without touching water, switch the appliance off as well.

What triggered the code?

A float or safety mechanism in the dishwasher base has detected water where it should not be. That does not identify the exact leak source. A seal, hose, pump, connection, or internal component may require inspection.

01Water detected in base

This is what the code confirms.

02Leak source unknown

The code alone does not identify the failed part.

03Protection is active

The dishwasher may keep trying to drain.

Safe checks before service

  1. 1
    Stop the cycle

Do not continue running the dishwasher to see if the code clears.

  2. 2
    Turn off the water supply

Use the appliance isolation valve if you can reach it safely.

  3. 3
    Check only visible external connections

Look for water around the supply and drain hoses without pulling apart the appliance.

  4. 4
    Arrange model-specific service

Record the full model number and E15 code before contacting support.

Do not tilt the dishwasher as a “reset”

Tilting may move water away from the sensor without repairing the leak. It can also spread water toward electrical components. Clearing the display is not the same as fixing the fault.

Repair or replace?

The E15 code alone is not enough to make that decision. Age, diagnosis, parts availability, and the written repair estimate matter more than the code itself.
