Refrigerator not cooling
Protect perishable food first. Then check settings, airflow, doors, and the installation environment before assuming a sealed-system failure.
Move perishables if temperatures are unsafe.
Do not rely on how cold food feels. Use a refrigerator thermometer and follow your local food-safety guidance.
External checks
- 1Confirm the set temperature
Check that cooling was not changed or placed in demo/vacation mode.
- 2Clear internal air vents
Overpacked shelves can prevent cold air from circulating.
- 3Inspect the door closure
Packaging or a dirty seal can hold the door slightly open.
- 4Check ventilation around the unit
Follow the clearances and cleaning procedure in the model manual.
Cross-checked: LG's current support flow starts with temperature settings, food arrangement, and clearing air vents.
LG source ↗When professional service is likely
If lights work but neither compartment cools after the external checks, or you hear repeated clicking, see an error code, or find oil-like residue, avoid sealed-system work and arrange qualified service.
